Editor’s Note

Making the Human and Planetary Connection

Switching our focus to the subject of plant-based nutrition and true health has never been more crucial and imperative; however, no matter how healthy we get, without nutritious soil, water, oxygen, or suitable climate, we will still perish.  So the focus should really be on how to provide health to everything around us, not just our bodies.

If we only focus on healing the body, we are still missing the point.  We are not just bone and muscle.  We have a neurological system connected to the rest of us, and a spiritual self, which needs as much nourishment as the physical one.  Focusing on a merely physical system is yet again a reductionist approach to health.

We are here to make a difference and I hope this will help.  After a long 18 months of working on this guideline on my own, it’s finally at a place where I can share it with you.  This is a beautiful collector's edition that I hope will become an essential tool for everyone from health professionals to advocates.  It is a purely scientific global health guideline that joins human health (prevention and reversal of chronic human disease) with planetary health (prevention and reversal of planetary depletion), as the two co-dependent factors to the preservation of human health and habitat.

This is truly, Reversive Medicine: health for humans, animals, and planet.
